Good Health A National Priority
Good Health A National Priority
Nada India Young Network for Good Health had brought together multiple stakeholders of Punjab to discuss different ways in which Educationists, Medical Experts, Government Agencies , NGOs and Youth Groups extended their support for the COTPA Amendment 2020 and operationalisation of the State and the National Multi-sectoral Action Plan (NMAP) for the control of tobacco with a youth-driven campaign and activities. The stakeholders also called on the government to increase taxes on tobacco products for stricter control.
NYIN Punjab strengthened its key concerns regarding tobacco with assistance from some of the most renowned Public health professionals, Doctors, Youth and Social Workers across Punjab! Punjab has always been known as a land of prosperity and good health but growing Legal drug use such as Tobacco has seen high prevalence especially in the consumption of smokeless tobacco!
Youth plays an important role in bringing positive change to our nation hence it is important to give their concerns the right path to reach the decision or the policymakers in the country!
Tobacco is harmful to our loved ones and planet! It is attributable to 25% of cancers in India and kills 1.3 million Indians each year. Surrogate advertising is being used to target the vulnerable populations hence Young India Network stands with the young India to create awareness among elders and youth regarding health risks due to tobacco! Making Good Health a National Priority for all
